Seahawks Set to Stun Steelers

One of the biggest NFL games for week 2 is the matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers are (-3.5) point favorites in the game and it is easy to see why. In 18 career meetings, the home team in the cross-country battle has a record of 15-3 including each of the last five and nine of the last 10. The Steelers are at home and they rebound well after a loss under head coach Mike Tomlin.

Meanwhile the Seahawks had to put in extra work to get past the Bengals. In its Week 1 win over Cincinnati, Seattle had the ball for just 24:10 of the 60 minutes and was outgained 429-233 in yardage. If the Seahawks can’t stop Andy Dalton, what chance do they have against the Steelers, right?

Don’t Make This Mistake

The first mistake is that the Steelers are still being bet like the team from the past. They are given a pass by bettors because they were trounced by arguably the best team in the NFL in the New England Patriots. But Pittsburgh has some problems.

The Steelers had dropped passes and lacked execution on offense. The Steelers were successful on 25% of its third downs and picked up one of three fourth downs. And the Steelers failed to convert on three third-and-1 situations. Now they face the blitz heavy Seahawks. The led the NFL in blitzes in Week 1 and will use their linebackers to pressure Big Ben and fill gaps to stop the run game.

Seahawks Adjustments

The Seahawks also are making adjustments and get some key players back in the lineup. Ziggy Ansah is expected to make his debut and although he will not play the entire game, he will have an impact.

In the secondary look for Tedric Thompson to be replaced at free safety by Bradley McDougald with Lano Hill starting at strong safety.

Offensive guard Mike Iupati (foot) will make his full Seahawks debut after only briefly appearing in the Week 1 game. He brings physicality to the Seahawks front.

Seattle QB Russell Wilson has thrown more touchdown passes (71) than any player in the league since 2017. They can establish the run, control the clock and put the pressure on the Steelers offense to execute early.

Seahawks vs Steelers Best Bet

The Steelers are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games in September and the Seahawks are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games.  The Seahawks will have a chance to pull off the upset in this game.  Take the Seahawks and the points.

Are the Baltimore Ravens a Sucker Bet in Week 1?

The Baltimore Ravens hit the road for the first week of the NFL season as they travel to Miami to take on the Dolphins. The Ravens opened as road favorites, but after the Dolphins traded away some of the best players, the point spread grew tremendously.

Before the trades, the Ravens were (-4) and now they can be found as high as (-7) at many legal US sportsbooks. It is not surprising to learn that according to sports betting consensus, the Ravens are the most popular bet on the board for week 1.

Over 80 percent of the bets are on the Ravens to get the win and cover in week 1. In the NFL if it looks to good it usually is. Are the Ravens the best bet for week 1 or a sucker bet?
